The Dragon
Colorful, exotic, sinuous and scaly, the
oriental dragon is more snakelike than bat or
bird like than western conceptualization of the
mythical beasts.  The Oriental Dragon is a

sacred beast of benevolence and good fortune.  Not
the destructive force of Western culture (as seen in
recent movies about dragons), nor purple dinosaurs,
Oriental Dragons are considered to be beasts of
majesty, power, and good fortune.  Dragon years are
thought to be fortuitous.  We see the oriental dragon

Dragons are magnificent!  Non-conformist to the max, the Dragon personality
will always march to the beat of a different drummer and not really care what
others think.  Normally self-assured and resourceful, they easily have the
capability and personal enthusiasm to act with great valor.  Flashiness is in
their nature.  Listening to their own inner drummer the Dragon personality may
be difficult for some to understand.  Dragon people never do anything in a small
way.  It would be right in character for the Dragon to make a huge display
when proposing to his intended mate.  It’s not that he’s making it about him he
just has a panache and style that is eloquent in its abundance.  Big ideas and
big things are watchwords for the Dragons.

Originality is the personality trait Dragons should rely on most when looking for
a career choice.  Dragons are said to be able to burn holes through walls.  This
is indicative of their capability of being able to see areas of opportunity where
others see nothing.  Dragons are great for thinking outside the box.  A wide
range of callings can be appropriate for the Dragon depending on their
association with the metals in the Chinese system.  Suffice to say that whether
it is as a politician, salesperson, broker, advertising agent, public relations
profession, lawyer or philosopher Dragon will bring an element of style, energy
and vigor to any occupational path they so choose.

Sometimes accused of having an excess of personality, Dragon people really
aren’t that difficult to please.  They enjoy stepping outside the traditional box a
little and enjoy new experiences.  If you want to get a gift your Dragon friend
will always treasure, try a set of the I Ching.  Looking for a way to get you out
of the dog house with your Dragon spouse?  Try a specialty candle in a
greenish-blue, scented with cinnamon.  For something different as a day out of
the house, find out where there are potentials of finding fossils in your area and
take your Dragon on a fossil hunt!
