| in true Kabalistic method (which was based on the Hebrew lettering system) nor in the Greek (you know Greek letters – alpha, omega, epsilon). However, this association with the English alphabet has been in use for approximately 500 years or more. Over the years, different practitioners have given the equations and the systems different names. Whether you call it a Name Number, a Destiny Number, a Ruling Number, Challenge Number, Personality Number, or Fate Number, it is still the same thing. However, a sum of a string of numbers is a sum of the string of numbers no matter how you stack the same numbers (another example of this can be seen at the top of the page). In other words…just add them up! Some folks find it easier to do the math if they stack the name one letter per line on lined paper vertically rather than writing it out horizontally.
