| through his work in Chiromancy and astrology. Also known as Chiromancy, Palmistry is the study and interpretation of the landmarks of the hands. The title “Palmistry” is actually a misnomer that has evolved over time. With its limited descriptive scope, “Palmistry” misses the mark of almost half the communication our hands can give us. In true Chiromancy, not only the lines of the palm are studied, but all aspects of the hand are taken into account. |

| Yes, we know. You hear “palmistry” and in your mind you see that hunched-over crone with bandanna around her head, scarves everyway, a fringed shawl thrown across a tabletop, incense and candles. Off in the corner sits a crystal ball and the neon light fritzes and frizzles as her voice cackles “Let me see your palm.” In your head the lines to “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves” and “Love Potion Number 9” scream warnings of fraud. In Renaissance times Palmistry was associated with the Romany who are believed by some to be the keepers of sacred knowledge. In the Victorian era notables such as Cicero, a celebrated mystic, received international acclaim |
Since the earliest of times, the Hand held power. Ice Age carvings in caves such as LasCaux in France, El Castillo in Spain, in the Marang Mountains in Borneo, and in dreamtime drawings of Aboriginal Australians all show the power and importance of the hand to our early ancestors. Spirals appear in pre-historic art throughout the world across cultural boundaries. Very impressive examples still exist today at the New Grange and Temple Wood sites on the British Isles. The swirls and circular spiral patterns have been proposed to represent the Universe, others speculate they are strictly decorative in manner some say the swirls represent the veil between the world of the living and the world of the dead, while others say to learn |
| the language of the swirls is to know the true power of the stones. There are a few that propose that the swirl and spiral patterns are actually representations of the swirls and patterns of the skin on the hands. The Ancients appear to have fully understood the power of the hand. Some cultures ascribed the power to feminine energy. Others felt the power of the hand should only be controlled by the masculine energy paths. Looking into your hand is another way of looking into yourself. In his sketches Jean-Michel Chazine catalogs over 50 different patterns on the hand paintings in the Marang (National Geographic Magazine, August 2005). Many of the patterns are easily recognizable to the practitioner of Chiromancy. There is also much said in the outline of the hand, how it is splayed, the way the fingers lay, etc. With Cave paintings dated to well over 10,000 years old they cause one to ponder what the ancients did know and understand about the magical power of the hand. Each person’s hands are unique. Before the advent of DNA testing, law enforcement agencies around the world used the study and comparison of the swirls and circles and patterns of the skin on our fingertips as state of the art to identify individuals with complete accuracy. Getting fingerprinted was a standard part of the arrest processing procedure and remains so today. As these lines, patterns and designs identify us as individuals, they, in conjunction with the messages of the rest of the hand such as length of fingers, breadth and width of the hand, and many other factors, tell us about ourselves. As a reading modality, a palm reading can be conducted in one of two ways, although the first step is the same for both reading types. Take a small amount of white talcum powder and dust it on your hands. Wipe off the excess powder and brush your hands. Then, make a copy of your hands, both palms up and palms down. Make sure the lines on the hands are easy to see. (Yes, we*do* need to see those squiggly lines on the inside of your knuckles. Please remember when making the copy to get the best resolution possible. The better quality submitted picture/copy of your hands, the better the analysis. Yes, we need your thumbprint too. We’ll give you complete instructions on how to make the copies/take pictures during the ordering process.) After the analysis, you can receive your interpretation either in writing by e- mail or, for an additional donation, by telephone or hard copy. The analysis will include a complete review of not only the major lines in the palm, but the more detailed characteristics and messages found in the smaller lines, patterns and size relations. Because they tend to be detailed in their analysis, we recommend that you opt for the e-mail version of the interpretation for extra savings, and to have a copy of the written interpretation of your “palm” reading to review over time. Some people feel that once they have a palm reading that they need never have one again. This is an incorrect assumption because it suggests that the palm of the hand is static and unchanging. It simply is not. Some elements are less subject to change (width, height, etc.) but through a variety of ways the marks on your hand can change. Lines that were subordinate before may become dominant. The lines on your hand do move and change directions due to the effects of scars, repetitive motions, and the normal wear and tear of life. Cuts, scratches, nicks and scrapes are all part of our daily fare. The hand is part of a living breathing entity, subject to change and free will so it can shift its message for you as you grow and continue life’s path.
