Four – Cups

In this card we see the couple turning away from each other. She clutches the child to her breast while he sits sternly and crossed-arm. Between them on the floor sits the cup of abundance, but neither reaches out for its richness.

The Four of Cups reeks of bitterness and disillusionment. Neil Diamond sang “It’s my belief pride is the chief cause in the decline of the number husbands and wives.” Are you letting pride come between you and the rich bounty of cups? Are you turning away from your own bitter experiences, or have you truly been wronged anew? Is what you are feeling the beginning of the end, or is it just the irritations of the moment?
